Episode 4: Kitchen Dwellers!

An audio first version of this episode is available here.
Hello friends, extremely excited to share this week's episode built around a conversation with Kitchen Dwellers. I first connected with Max Davies, their guitarist, as part of the Annapolis Baygrass Festival, which I reviewed for JamBase in 2024 and 2025. During the 2025 show, the Dwellers played an awesome cover of Jimmy Buffett's "Son of a Son of a Sailor." As I've said before and will say again, I'm a huge fan of Jimmy's, and it turns out the Dwellers guys are as well, which only further endears them to me.
That led to my seeing them in Philly, where I reviewed their show at Underground Arts for Relix (link). We all hung out a bit before the show, and it was then and there that I decided to travel to Denver to see them during a run of shows at Cervantes and Mission Ballroom. (My Live for Live Music review here.)
The Denver run was fantastic, and we were so excited to sit down and catch up with them. Producer Tedd and I have been hard at work cranking out new episodes for you all, and in the coming weeks, we'll share two other conversations that we had there with some of the artists who opened for them. (Stay tuned for those...)
A couple of other things – first, not sure if you know, but we publish an audio-first version of this podcast wherever you get yours. For this episode, I added a separate spoken intro to the show that doesn't appear in the video – feel free to check that out. Also, Producer Tedd and I have been using Discord very actively as part of our own process, and we thought it would be fun to open that server to anyone else who cares to join. The link is here – please feel free to join us there and say hello!
Since our last episode:
- I've published three new pieces:
- I was in Japan working on a story I'm extremely excited about – here's all I can say about it at the moment
