Hello friends, I'm excited to share this week's conversation with Tyler Asay: singer, rhythm guitarist, and chief songwriter of The Tisburys, a local indie/power pop/rock band. (As Tyler discusses during the episode, they're accustomed to slashes when it comes to describing their music.)

I've gotten to know Tyler over the last two or so years. We met through Philly Music Fest, which I [profiled for *Glide*](https://glidemagazine.com/306638/the-philly-music-fest-our-genre-is-philly/?ref=bubandpop.com) and have gone on to review for [them](https://glidemagazine.com/307139/devon-gilfillian-headlines-electrifying-set-at-philly-music-fest-show-review%5F/?ref=bubandpop.com) and others, and have stayed in touch. (As I mention during the podcast intro, he's always been persistent and never anything approximating annoying – the lesson to young musicians is to not be shy about reaching out!) I really enjoyed the Tisburys' last LP, 2025's *A Still Life Revisited*, which wound up being [one of my faves of the year](https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CuPJMPsff/), and it was fun to hear Tyler talk about the new record and to think aloud about differernt producers who might be a good fit for it.

You may notice that we now offer [subscriptions](https://www.bubandpop.com/#/portal/signup) to Bub & Pop. (It's a matter of flair.) We're still not sure yet exactly what that entails, but I'm envisioning something unique and special. We appreciate any support and promise to put it to good use.

I'll send a Bub & Pop t-shirt to the first person *who isn't already a close friend from college* – I'll honor my first commitment, UB (I know how you feel about a good technicality) – to join our [Discord](https://discord.gg/9N5ZJyeu?ref=bubandpop.com) and send me a message.

I'm expecting a slew of old publications to hit soon and will look forward to sharing those. I'm continuing to make progress on the biggest article of my career to date and am extremely excited to share more re that come the fall. Thanks for tuning in!
